Grow food in the desert? Yes! Where there once was salty
dust, there are now figs, citrus and pomegranates.
Permaculture expert Geoff Lawton and team went to
the Jordan Desert and transformed 10 acres into a lush,
thriving, food-producing garden.
They developed a system to harvest every drop of rainwater,
and using mulch they created soil so moist and alive
it grew mushrooms!
